The Minister of agriculture of Germany hopes for relief food embargo from RussiaThe Minister of agriculture of Germany, Christian Schmidt hopes to alleviate food embargo with Russia.As reported Lenta.RU with reference to the German publication WirtschaftsWoche, Schmidt is going to meet with the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fedorov. The meeting will be held in the exhibition of agricultural products "Green week" in Berlin on 16 January. The representative of the German government intends to raise the issue of the potential weakening of the Russian embargo on products to the German agricultural sector.German Minister hopes for a quick return to the traditionally good agricultural relations between the two countries, writes media. The newspaper notes that, according to Schmidt, the withdrawal of the Russian embargo does not mean automatic easing of sanctions imposed by the West against Russia. The Russian embargo has affected about one percent of total German exports, which brought the country about 67 billion euros per year.Russia imposed a ban on the export of beef, pork, fruits, poultry, cheese and milk from the EU, USA, Australia, Canada and Norway, 7 August 2014.
